IMPORTANT NEWS BULLETIN: Dusty is getting older as we speak. Today February 11th  is a day that history will not forget- the day little Dusty was born. He had waited his whole life for that day and it finally came. He was born a big kid, just a few pounds lighter than he is now. But much more likely to eat all his vegetables in those early days, except for spinach because that could kill you. And salad, also can be bad. And anything at the Jack In The Box is probably tainted. Nonetheless, Happy Birthday Dusty- you are a year closer to Curly's age for now and on your way to the Senior Discount at Denny's and a chance to join AARP soon!

We will miss you Rick Fatland.

Born March 24, 1946...  Departed  Nov 7, 2006

You will always be the one and only 'Voice Of The Fair'...

You were our guru, our adviser, our confidant, and our mentor. Most of all you were our friend. We hope you know we could not have done any of this without you...

You look pretty good (and I don't mean that in a 'Bareback Mountain' sort of way) for being as old as you are. There are some concerns among cast members as to whether you'll be able to work with a cane or not...I told them that you hadn't worked a day since you joined up, why make you start now?

I've posted  a few photos of your life to bring back a few memories (try not to get a tear in your eye-there's no cryin' in cowboy):

  • Dusty wasn't always the good horse trainer he is now. This is a photo taken at Mule Days in Pakistan and this was one of Dusty's first training jobs...

  • When Dusty worked on that big Cattle Ranch in Texas, he always volunteered to take the horses up to the waterin' trough, sometimes a dozen times a day...

  • A very rare childhood photo (they didn't have cameras in those days) of Dusty and his pony showing off right before his Mom said "It's always fun 'til somebody gets hurt" and she slapped Dusty's horse on the behind in a playful sort of way.  This may account for why Dusty never invites his Mom on any of his trail rides...

Well, I hope that got you all choked up (not like one of them sissies in that movie though) and I'm sure it brought back memories you haven't had for years.

Happy Birthday from Curly and the whole Wild West Express crew (which is getting smaller by the minute)...
